We’re letting it out

The wildest shout

We’re showing our teeth

And we’re perfectly fine

These white walls hurt my eyes, they show me the reason why it is that the

caged bird sings: they miss all the seasons

They don’t feel safe inside what they have been given

They don’t feel satisfied being able to look through the bars at the world

outside

We’re letting it out

We’re claiming it all

Or just at least for tonight

If blue skies have taught us anything, it’s that there is no such thing as

purity

Without the occasional rain cloud, or the winds from the coast that bring in

the hurricane that settles the eye, and stirs up the ocean for the waves to

arise, and the earthquake that brings down the house that we lie in

This still-water world just contrasts our minds…

That are chaotic, and they’re wild, and they’re free, and they’re nothing like

they want them to be

And its pulsing and its true, the heart of the beast is in you

And we feel it and we know, and we just have to let it go

And it’s living and it breathes, our inner peace love and anarchy

And it shines through the clouds, and she lets us all know that she’s proud

En we zijn prima in orde

Deze witte muren doen pijn aan mijn ogen, ze laten me de reden zien waarom het is dat de

gekooide vogel zingt: ze missen alle seizoenen

Ze voelen zich niet veilig in wat ze hebben gekregen

Ze zijn niet tevreden als ze door de tralies naar de wereld kunnen kijken

buiten

We claimen het allemaal

Of in ieder geval voor vanavond

Als de blauwe lucht ons iets heeft geleerd, dan is het wel dat er niet zoiets bestaat als:

zuiverheid

Zonder af en toe een regenwolk, of de wind van de kust die binnenkomt

de orkaan die het oog kalmeert en de oceaan opstookt zodat de golven

opstaan, en de aardbeving die het huis waarin we liggen neerstort

Deze wereld van stilstaand water contrasteert gewoon met onze geest...

Die zijn chaotisch, en ze zijn wild, en ze zijn vrij, en ze zijn helemaal niet zoals

ze willen dat ze zijn

En het klopt en het is waar, het hart van het beest zit in jou

En we voelen het en we weten het, en we moeten het gewoon laten gaan

En het leeft en het ademt, onze innerlijke vrede, liefde en anarchie

En het schijnt door de wolken, en ze laat ons allemaal weten dat ze trots is

We laten het eruit

De wildste schreeuw

We laten onze tanden zien

En we graven ze in
