Revelation - Insomnium

I have drunk the yearning,

Swallowed the flame in full,

And now I will bend the skies to my will.

Two eternities can never be so far part,

That I could not bridge them together.

«I hear the unsaid thoughts,

The silence throught the storm,

I speak without the words,

With unbound soul,

I’ll bring forth the Sun,

And hand over the moon,

I’ll hide the evening stars,

And fold them in your heart.»

I have touched the longing,

Breathed the wistful air,

If I wish, I will turn the winters to springs.

Throught the dust and fear,

I find the faintest light,

And I can see life,

Admist the death that wreaths us all.

Here at your feet,

I rest my head,

Hear the roar of time,

The birth of stars.

This is the gift of man,

The key to see it all,

The hidden wonders,

Hope in despair.

But only the few will find it,

Only the few will keep it,

Only the few will ever turn towards the Sun.

Ik heb het verlangen gedronken,

De vlam volledig ingeslikt,

En nu zal ik de lucht naar mijn hand buigen.

Twee eeuwigheden kunnen nooit zo ver uit elkaar zijn,

Dat ik ze niet samen kon overbruggen.

«Ik hoor de onuitgesproken gedachten,

De stilte door de storm,

Ik spreek zonder de woorden,

Met ongebonden ziel,

Ik zal de zon voortbrengen,

En overhandig de maan,

Ik zal de avondsterren verbergen,

En vouw ze in je hart.»

Ik heb het verlangen aangeraakt,

Ademde de weemoedige lucht in,

Als ik wil, verander ik de winters in lentes.

Door het stof en de angst,

Ik vind het zwakste licht,

En ik kan het leven zien,

Erken de dood die ons allemaal omhult.

«Ik hoor de onuitgesproken gedachten,

Hier aan je voeten,

ik laat mijn hoofd rusten,

Hoor het gebrul van de tijd,

De geboorte van sterren.

Dit is het geschenk van de mens,

De sleutel om alles te zien,

De verborgen wonderen,

Hoop in wanhoop.

Maar slechts enkelen zullen het vinden,

Slechts enkelen zullen het houden,

Slechts enkelen zullen zich ooit naar de zon keren.
