My house burned down this morning, and my friends they came around,

I saved the master recordings, but my girl was not to be found.

I ran inside the studios, to save the tape machine,

But my girlfriend she was fast asleep, locked up inside some dream.

Now I’m leaving this suburban crowd and moving to LA,

To a big-time record company that will pay the AMA.

Success is just around the bend, you can hear it in my voice,

I wonder if this is the way to Escape From Noise.

Mijn huis is vanmorgen afgebrand, en mijn vrienden kwamen langs,

Ik heb de masteropnames bewaard, maar mijn meisje was niet te vinden.

Ik rende de studio's in om de bandmachine te redden,

Maar mijn vriendin was diep in slaap, opgesloten in een droom.

Nu verlaat ik deze menigte in de buitenwijken en verhuis ik naar LA,

Aan een grote platenmaatschappij die de AMA betaalt.

Succes is net om de bocht, je kunt het horen in mijn stem,

Ik vraag me af of dit de manier is om te ontsnappen aan lawaai.
