13 horses swimming in the sea

Waiting for someone to find them

Their ship is gone

and now they are alone

With water everywhere around them

The men were saved

from the sinking ship

Right before it started to burn

And while they’re safe

their loyal friends need help

Patiently waiting for their turn

13 horses swimming in the sea

They don’t even know it’s pointless

Their pride remains

but this time it won’t help

They used to be so tall

and sudennly they’re small

There’s a couple waiting far behind

So they will be out of sight

But then who cares —

they’re dying anyway

All of them are doomed this night

The sea they thought was just a river

They’re used to this

it’s probably just a race

That helps to ease their minds

but where’s the finish line

The night grows dark

the body wants to rest

It hurts to breathe

and still they do their best

They want to live

no matter for how long

Their thoughts all disappeared

‘Cause now they’re really scared

7 horses struggling in the sea

Waiting for someone to find them

They don’t look back

‘cause what’s the point of that

There is only death behind them

They cry for help

but help will never come

They don’t know where to swim

or what they’re swimming from

They try to swim some more

when panic starts to spread

They’re swimming in to shore

but only in their heads

The 3 last horses

Dying in the sea

Shouting out their cries but no one

They’re born to win

they’re screaming in their hearts

The strength of thousand men

They’re fighting to the end

The sun is out

Birds are everywhere

They’re flying high

surfing in the air

It’s nice to live

when life is such a blast

One horse that swims

it seems to be the last

The thirteenth horse

has always been the best

His honour will be proud

But now he wants to rest

He’s longing for his home

The girl will give him food

«Good boy» — she’ll say

together they will play

13 horses swimming in the sea

Soon they will be gone forever

And while they swim,

One thing still remains

And that’s the hope that never dies

Wachten tot iemand ze vindt

Hun schip is weg

en nu zijn ze alleen

Met overal water om zich heen

De mannen zijn gered

van het zinkende schip

Vlak voordat het begon te branden

En terwijl ze veilig zijn

hun trouwe vrienden hebben hulp nodig

Geduldig wachten op hun beurt

13 paarden die in de zee zwemmen

Ze weten niet eens dat het zinloos is

Hun trots blijft

maar deze keer zal het niet helpen

Vroeger waren ze zo lang

en opeens zijn ze klein

Er wacht een stel ver achter

Ze zijn dus uit het zicht

Maar wat maakt het uit...

ze gaan toch dood

Ze zijn allemaal verdoemd deze nacht

11 paarden die in de zee zwemmen

De zee waarvan ze dachten dat het slechts een rivier was

Ze zijn dit gewend

het is waarschijnlijk gewoon een race

Dat helpt om hun gedachten te kalmeren

maar waar is de finish

De nacht wordt donker

het lichaam wil rusten

Het doet pijn om te ademen

en toch doen ze hun best

Ze willen leven

maakt niet uit voor hoe lang

Hun gedachten zijn allemaal verdwenen

Want nu zijn ze echt bang

7 paarden die worstelen in de zee

Wachten tot iemand ze vindt

Ze kijken niet achterom

want wat heeft dat voor zin?

Er is alleen de dood achter hen

Ze huilen om hulp

maar hulp zal nooit komen

Ze weten niet waar ze moeten zwemmen

of waar ze vandaan zwemmen

Ze proberen nog wat te zwemmen

wanneer de paniek zich begint te verspreiden

Ze zwemmen naar de kust

maar alleen in hun hoofd

De 3 laatste paarden

Sterven in de zee

Hun kreten uitschreeuwen, maar niemand

Ze zijn geboren om te winnen

ze schreeuwen in hun hart

De kracht van duizend mannen

Ze vechten tot het einde

De zon schijnt

Vogels zijn overal

Ze vliegen hoog

surfen in de lucht

Het is leuk om te leven

als het leven zo geweldig is

Een paard dat zwemt

het lijkt de laatste te zijn

Het dertiende paard

is altijd de beste geweest

Zijn eer zal trots zijn

Maar nu wil hij rusten

Hij verlangt naar zijn huis

Het meisje zal hem eten geven

«Goede jongen» — zal ze zeggen

samen zullen ze spelen

13 paarden die in de zee zwemmen

Binnenkort zijn ze voor altijd weg

En terwijl ze zwemmen,

Er blijft nog één ding over

En dat is de hoop die nooit sterft
