You’re not going to get rich renting out your time

But you say that you will get rich by giving society what it wants

But does not yet know how to get

At scale

That’s right

We talked about before money is IOUs from society saying You did something good

in the past

Now here’s something that we owe you for the future

And so

Society will pay you for creating things that it wants

That society doesn’t yet know how to create those things

You want to figure out which one of those things

You can provide for society

Almost everything is in your house

In your workplace

And on the street

Used to be technology at one point in time

There was a time when oil was technology

That made JD Rockefeller rich

Cars were technology

That made Henry Ford rich

Technology is just a set of things as Alan Kay said that «Don't quite work yet.»

Once something works

Its no longer technology

Society always wants new things

And if you want to be wealthy

You want to figure out which one of those things

You can provide for society

That it does not yet know how to get but it will want

…that's natural to you

And within your skill set

Nd within your capabilities

And then you have to forgot to scale it

Because if you just build one of it that’s not enough

You gotta build thousands or hundreds of thousands or millions or billions of

them

So, everybody can have one

Steve Jobbs and his team of course

Figured out that society would want smartphones

Computer in their pocket

That had all the phone capabilities times 100

And be easy to use

So, they figured out how to build that

And then they figured out how to scale it

And they figured out how to get one into

Every first world citizen’s pocket

And eventually every third world citizen too

And so, because of that they were handsomely rewarded

And Apple is the most valuable company in the world

First it starts with an act of creativity

First you created just because you want it

You want it

And you know how to build it

And you need it and so you build it for yourself

Then you figure out how to get it to other people and then for a little while

rich people have it

Like for example rich people had chauffeurs

And then they had black town cars

And then Uber came along and everyone’s private driver was available to

everybody

And now you can even see Ubers pool sort of replacing shuttle buses because

it’s more convenient

And then you get scooters which are further down market of that

It’s about distributing what rich people used to have to everybody

But the entrepreneur jobs start even before that

Which is creation

Entrepreneurship is essentially

An act of creating something new from scratch

Predicting the society will want it

And then figuring out how to scale it

And get it to everybody in a profitable way

And self-sustaining way

Maar je zegt dat je rijk wordt door de samenleving te geven wat ze wil

Dat klopt

We hadden het over voordat geld een schuldbekentenis van de samenleving is die zegt dat je iets goeds hebt gedaan

in het verleden

Hier is iets dat we je verschuldigd zijn voor de toekomst

En dus

De samenleving betaalt je voor het maken van dingen die ze willen

Die samenleving weet nog niet hoe ze die dingen moeten maken

Was ooit technologie

Er was een tijd dat olie technologie was

Dat maakte JD Rockefeller rijk

Auto's waren technologie

Dat maakte Henry Ford rijk

Technologie is slechts een reeks dingen, zoals Alan Kay zei: «Weet nog niet helemaal.»

Zodra iets werkt

Het is geen technologie meer

De maatschappij wil altijd nieuwe dingen

Jij kunt voor de samenleving zorgen

En dan moet je vergeten te schalen

Want als je er maar één van bouwt, is dat niet genoeg

Je moet duizenden of honderden duizenden of miljoenen of miljarden bouwen

Dus iedereen kan er een hebben

Ben erachter gekomen dat de samenleving smartphones zou willen

Computer in hun zak

Dat had alle telefoonmogelijkheden keer 100

En gebruiksvriendelijk zijn

Dus ze ontdekten hoe ze dat konden bouwen

En toen bedachten ze hoe ze het konden schalen

En ze ontdekten hoe ze er een in konden krijgen

De portemonnee van elke eerste wereldburger

En uiteindelijk ook elke derdewereldburger

En daarom werden ze rijkelijk beloond

En Apple is het meest waardevolle bedrijf ter wereld

Eerst begint het met een daad van creativiteit

Eerst heb je gemaakt, gewoon omdat je het wilt

Jij wil het

En je weet hoe je het moet bouwen

En je hebt het nodig en dus bouw je het voor jezelf

Dan bedenk je hoe je het bij andere mensen kunt krijgen en dan voor een tijdje

rijke mensen hebben het

Zoals bijvoorbeeld rijke mensen chauffeurs hadden

En toen hadden ze zwarte stadsauto's

En toen kwam Uber langs en was de privéchauffeur van iedereen beschikbaar voor

iedereen

En nu kun je zelfs zien dat Ubers een soort van pendelbussen vervangt omdat

het is handiger

En dan krijg je scooters die daar verder in de markt liggen?

Het gaat om het verdelen van wat rijke mensen vroeger hadden aan iedereen

Maar de ondernemersbanen beginnen al eerder

Wat is creatie

Ondernemerschap is in wezen

Een handeling om helemaal opnieuw iets nieuws te creëren

Voorspellen dat de samenleving het wil

En dan uitzoeken hoe je het kunt schalen

En breng het op een winstgevende manier bij iedereen

En zelfvoorzienende manier
