The stupid policeman accepted that

Up came the Inspector

And ask him what is the matter

So he jump out he car in a hurry

His reward is supposed to be heavy

Well without any delay

Sent the policeman two blocks away

Of all the dirty tricks upon the shelf

So he raise the hat very slowly

Feeling for the Queen’s canary

But when he snatch, he hold something soft instead…

Ik ben bang dat het zou vliegen en gaan

Als je het voor me zou kunnen houden

Ik zou een kooi halen en zo snel mogelijk terugkomen»

De stomme politieagent accepteerde dat

Gebukt op de weg en met de hoed vast

Op kwam de inspecteur

En vraag hem wat er aan de hand is

Hij zei: «De kanarie van de koningin vliegt weg...

Maar ah heb het bedekt dey»

De inspecteur was erg, erg hebzuchtig

Dus hij springt haastig uit zijn auto

Want als een man de kanarie van de koningin vangt...

Zijn beloning zou zwaar zijn

Stuurde de politieman twee straten verderop

Maar als hij grijpt, houdt hij in plaats daarvan iets zachts vast...
