There he is sitting all alone…

He found the starry sky one night, a secret he will keep

There is a house next to the station

It’s not abandoned any more

You see the lights up at the station

Somebody’s living there for sure

No one’s ever stayed inside up there till dawn arrives

There was some damage to the spacecraft

So now they’re stuck in outer space

Something went wrong down at the lift-off

Two billion miles or more away

«We'll send another capsule

So they may be back in June…»

He lit a candle from the fireplace

Sat on the floor and watched it breathe

See the Lightkeeper finally found his place

And he won’t rise, won’t fall asleep

Our lives are lying there before us, awaiting

So many ways to make it right

These stars all look the same

Om de strijd tussen duisternis en licht te strijden

Daar zit hij helemaal alleen...

Op een nacht vond hij de sterrenhemel, een geheim dat hij zal bewaren

Er is een huis naast het station

Het is niet meer verlaten

Je ziet de lichten op het station branden

Daar woont zeker iemand

Niemand is daar ooit binnen gebleven tot de dageraad aanbreekt

Er was wat schade aan het ruimtevaartuig

Dus nu zitten ze vast in de ruimte

Er is iets misgegaan bij de lancering

Twee miljard mijl of meer weg

«We sturen nog een capsule

Dus misschien zijn ze in juni weer terug...»

Hij stak een kaars aan bij de open haard

Zat op de vloer en keek hoe hij ademde

Zie dat de Lightkeeper eindelijk zijn plek heeft gevonden

En hij zal niet opstaan, niet in slaap vallen

Onze levens liggen daar voor ons, in afwachting van

Zoveel manieren om het goed te maken

En toch zijn ze allemaal hetzelfde voor mij

Deze sterren zien er allemaal hetzelfde uit
