They say everything has its reason

Today I have my doubts

Like 22 children on a bus go into

A tunnel and never come out

They say the higher that you climb

The further that you fall

Like 22 dreams come true

And then they crash into a concrete wall

You can dig a hole when the mountain’s too high

You can build a bridge where the river’s too wide

But what do you do when your head hangs heavy

And the weight is in your chest

Today I can’t seem to figure out

How the worst brings out the best

They say time will heal all wounds

Today there’s only pain

Like 22 children on a bus came home

In the belly of a military plane

Ze zeggen dat alles zijn reden heeft

Vandaag heb ik mijn twijfels

Zoals 22 kinderen in een bus binnenkomen

Een tunnel en kom er nooit meer uit

Ze zeggen hoe hoger je klimt

Hoe verder je valt

Alsof 22 dromen uitkomen

En dan botsen ze tegen een betonnen muur

Je kunt een gat graven als de berg te hoog is

Je kunt een brug bouwen waar de rivier te breed is

Maar wat doe je als je hoofd zwaar hangt?

En het gewicht zit in je borst

Vandaag kom ik er niet uit

Hoe het slechtste het beste naar boven haalt

Ze zeggen dat de tijd alle wonden heelt

Vandaag is er alleen maar pijn

Net als 22 kinderen in een bus kwamen thuis

In de buik van een militair vliegtuig
