I had a dream I don’t know what it meant

But I dreamed Donald Trump was our president

And there on election night right by his side

His flunky Chris Christie along for the ride

But it gets worse just wait there’s more

He made Jeff Sessions Secretary of War

And just like he promised he built him that wall

He blew up Cuba and he carpet bombed Montreal

I had a dream I woke up in a cold sweat

The Donald was elected in a huge upset

He made a bad deal with Putin a secret pact with Assad

Told the Pope where to go I swear to God

As for the Supreme Court he got to choose

He filled the vacancy up with Lyin' Ted Cruz

His face was bright orange and his hair was just weird

But we were made great again, embarrassed and feared

I had a dream here’s how it went

I dreamed that the Trumpster was the president

His little finger on the button, he was doin' his thing

Our new national anthem was «my ding-a-ling»

We were bought and sold like in Monopoly

He had the most hotels in the land of the free

Locked up the opposition and the demonstrators too

That would be me and it might be you

I had a dream I’m not sure what it meant

When I dreamed Donald Trump was our president

And it wasn’t even close he won it in a landslide

Our new hot First Lady she was beaming with pride

If you think that’s cool don’t fool yourself

He made Ben Carson Secretary of Health

And Sarah Palin Secretary of Stealth

If you think that’s scary just you wait

He made Newt Gingrich the Secretary of State

And Rush Limbaugh the Secretary of Hate!

Dreams come true and there’s prophesy

And sometimes a nightmare is a reality

En daar op de verkiezingsavond aan zijn zijde

Zijn flunky Chris Christie mee voor de rit

Maar het wordt erger, wacht maar, er is meer

Hij maakte Jeff Sessions minister van Oorlog

En net zoals hij beloofde, bouwde hij die muur voor hem

Hij blies Cuba op en hij bombardeerde Montreal met tapijt

Ik had een droom dat ik wakker werd in het koude zweet

De Donald werd met grote overstuur gekozen

Hij sloot een slechte deal met Poetin, een geheim pact met Assad

Vertelde de paus waar ik heen moest, ik zweer het op God

Wat betreft het Hooggerechtshof moest hij kiezen:

Hij vulde de vacature met Lyin' Ted Cruz

Zijn gezicht was fel oranje en zijn haar was gewoon raar

Maar we werden weer groot gemaakt, beschaamd en gevreesd

Ik had een droom, hier is hoe het ging

Ik droomde dat de Trumpster de president was

Zijn pink op de knop, hij deed zijn ding

Ons nieuwe volkslied was "mijn ding-a-ling"

We werden gekocht en verkocht zoals in Monopoly

Hij had de meeste hotels in het land van de vrijen

De oppositie en de demonstranten opgesloten

Dat zou ik zijn en jij misschien

Ik had een droom. Ik weet niet zeker wat het betekende

Toen ik droomde dat Donald Trump onze president was

En het kwam niet eens in de buurt, hij won het in een aardverschuiving

Onze nieuwe hete First Lady straalde van trots

Als je dat cool vindt, houd jezelf dan niet voor de gek

Hij maakte Ben Carson minister van Volksgezondheid

En Sarah Palin Secretaresse van Stealth

Als je dat eng vindt, wacht dan maar af

Hij maakte Newt Gingrich de staatssecretaris

En Rush Limbaugh, de minister van Haat!

Dromen komen uit en er is profetie

En soms is een nachtmerrie werkelijkheid
