The white bauhinia in the spring

Whose branches swell and stream with bloom

Holds all the good world blossoming

As promise of the fruit to come

She whose body swells in bloom

As laden as the trees of spring

Smiles with the knowledge that her womb

Contains the first seed ripening

Lullaby baby lie all lovely

Move in sloping arms of sleep

You are form where calm moved freely

Fact where all before was hope

And when she lies with him at night

He touches her body in awe

The joy that swells to make her great

Cannot be told, may not be shared

Although she lies so close to him

That he might touch the springs he knows

He who planted the white tree

May only watch how rich it grows

Something more than one another

That all people wish together

All is small and great and simple

All is too vast to keep

The flowers toss and splash in light

The cup, the essence of all springs

She moves in the same delight

And in her smile vast knowledge sings

De witte bauhinia in de lente

Wiens takken zwellen en stromen van bloei

Laat de hele goede wereld bloeien

Glimlacht met de wetenschap dat haar baarmoeder

Bevat de eerste zaadrijping

Beweeg in schuine armen van slaap

Je bent een vorm waar rust vrijelijk bewoog

Feit waar alles eerst hoop was

En als ze 's nachts bij hem ligt

Hij raakt haar lichaam aan met ontzag

De vreugde die opzwelt om haar groot te maken

Kan niet worden verteld, mag niet worden gedeeld

Hoewel ze zo dicht bij hem ligt

Dat hij de bronnen mag aanraken die hij kent

Hij die de witte boom heeft geplant

Mag alleen kijken hoe rijk het wordt

Slaapliedje baby lieg allemaal heerlijk

Beweeg in schuine armen van slaap

Je bent een vorm waar rust vrijelijk bewoog

Feit waar alles eerst hoop was

Iets meer dan elkaar

Dat alle mensen samen wensen

Alles is klein en groots en eenvoudig

Alles is te groot om te bewaren

De bloemen woelen en spetteren in het licht

De beker, de essentie van alle bronnen

Ze beweegt in hetzelfde plezier

En in haar glimlach zingt enorme kennis
