What the fuck has to happen to you?

How does a moral compass get so skewed?

To think what you’re doing is justified?

The violence, the brutality

Honourable to your deity?

None of this makes any sense to me

This world is not your enemy

These ideas in these old pages have laid down roots

Poisoned the minds of our youth

So blinded by their rage that they can’t see the truth

Thousand year old dusty books

Interpreted by liars and crooks

Whatever you have done in the hopes of heaven

There’s no forgiveness for your transgressions

Is it the promise of heaven?

Or just the promise of a better future?

Or are you so insecure that you need to live forever?

Get it right the first time

'Cos when you close your eyes it’ll be the last time

Life is precious man

And if your God can’t see that then maybe he’s no God at all

Just a man who wrote a book that played into every insecurity that you ever felt

To excuse your behaviour

Your destructive human nature

If there’s any justice in this life

Maybe there will be a hell

Or at least somewhere that you will never rest

Wat moet er verdomme met je gebeuren?

Hoe komt een moreel kompas zo scheef?

Te denken dat wat je doet gerechtvaardigd is?

Het geweld, de brutaliteit

Eer aan je godheid?

Dit alles slaat voor mij nergens op

Deze wereld is niet je vijand

Deze ideeën op deze oude pagina's hebben hun oorsprong gevonden

Vergiftigde de geest van onze jeugd

Zo verblind door hun woede dat ze de waarheid niet kunnen zien

Duizend jaar oude stoffige boeken

Geïnterpreteerd door leugenaars en oplichters

Wat je ook hebt gedaan in de hoop van de hemel

Er is geen vergeving voor uw overtredingen

Is het de belofte van de hemel?

Of alleen de belofte van een betere toekomst?

Of ben je zo onzeker dat je voor altijd moet leven?

Doe het de eerste keer goed

Want als je je ogen sluit, is het de laatste keer

Het leven is kostbaar man

En als je God dat niet kan zien, dan is hij misschien helemaal geen God

Gewoon een man die een boek schreef dat inspeelde op elke onzekerheid die je ooit hebt gevoeld

Om je gedrag te excuseren

Jouw destructieve menselijke natuur

Als er gerechtigheid is in dit leven

Misschien komt er een hel

Of in ieder geval ergens waar je nooit zult rusten
