Looking through my hotel window

In a third world country

Yes I’m looking through my hotel window

In a third world country

The sun is shining the skies are blue

And there’s a cool breeze passing through

The plants are green it’s a beautiful scene

Seems like a nice place for human beings

But there’s people on the streets, no shoes on their feet

They gotta hustle to get a little food to eat

I know that things shouldn’t be this way

But what can I do, what can I say?

There are oh so many problems

And I wish that I could solve them

But even with inspiration

Right direction and good intention

No man is an island so won’t somebody give a hand

For the people in the third world

But what can I do what can I say?

In een derdewereldland

Ja, ik kijk door mijn hotelraam

In een derdewereldland

De zon schijnt, de lucht is blauw

En er komt een koel briesje doorheen

De planten zijn groen, het is een mooi tafereel

Lijkt me een fijne plek voor mensen

Maar er zijn mensen op straat, geen schoenen aan hun voeten

Ze moeten zich haasten om wat te eten te krijgen

Ik weet dat het niet zo zou moeten zijn

Maar wat kan ik doen, wat kan ik zeggen?

Er zijn oh zo veel problemen

En ik wou dat ik ze kon oplossen

Maar ook met inspiratie

De juiste richting en goede bedoelingen

Geen mens is een eiland, dus zal niemand een handje helpen?

Voor de mensen in de derde wereld

Er zijn mensen op straat, geen schoenen aan hun voeten

Ze moeten zich haasten om wat te eten te krijgen

Ik weet dat het niet zo zou moeten zijn

Maar wat kan ik doen, wat kan ik zeggen?
