Let me tell you how this all came to be

I was sittin' diggin' in the word Matthew 23

I’m thinking this is it, finally victory

Then the Holy Spirit hit quick convicted me

Could it be it’s just all hypocrisy

I’m a modern day pharisee quite possibly

Tell me whats the use if I know the law

But the true living God I never knew at all

I got to practice what I preach

It don’t matter what I’m saying on these beats

In the church or when I’m on the streets

Tell me whats the use if I don’t practice what I preach

If thats the case I should expect the worst

No surprise why the word would reject the church

I mean why would you respect my turf

If I don’t comply myself and resect it first

Brothers and sisters in Christ this is a wake up call

To myself included I can relate to y’all

Right now is the time I got to start living it

The last thing I want to be is a hypocrite

Make no mistakes its a must that I be honest y’all

Whats in the dark shall come to light thats a promise y’all

I know what someone say it ain’t no surprise to me

«I ain’t a Christian so none of this applies to me»

Indeed, that’s why off and from the start

I sincerely pray THE LORD will soften up your heart

Until then beware of any false prophets

Vicious wolves disguised as sheep that look harmless

Don’t be fooled before you follow suit

I mean really take a look and recognize them by their fruit

The good news is even as I’m writing this

I realize only faith brings forth righteousness

Yet I can’t neglect how I live and behave

Cause faith without works will only end up in the grave

Right nows the time we got to start living it

Ik zat te graven in het woord Matthew 23

Ik denk dat dit het is, eindelijk de overwinning

Toen sloeg de Heilige Geest snel toe en overtuigde me

Zou het kunnen dat het allemaal hypocrisie is?

Ik ben misschien wel een hedendaagse farizeeër

Vertel me wat het nut is als ik de wet ken?

Maar de ware levende God heb ik helemaal nooit gekend

Ik moet oefenen wat ik predik

Het maakt niet uit wat ik zeg op deze beats

In de kerk of als ik op straat ben

Vertel me wat het nut is als ik niet praktiseer wat ik predik

Als dat het geval is, moet ik het ergste verwachten

Geen verrassing waarom het woord de kerk zou afwijzen

Ik bedoel, waarom zou je mijn gras respecteren?

Als ik er zelf niet aan doe en het eerst resecteer

Broeders en zusters in Christus, dit is een wake-up call

Met inbegrip van mezelf kan ik me in jullie vinden

Nu is de tijd die ik heb om ernaar te leven

Het laatste wat ik wil zijn, is een hypocriet

Vergis je niet, het is een must dat ik eerlijk ben jullie allemaal

Wat in het donker is, zal aan het licht komen, dat is een belofte jullie allemaal

Ik weet wat iemand zegt, het is geen verrassing voor mij

«Ik ben geen christen, dus dit is allemaal niet op mij van toepassing»

Inderdaad, daarom vanaf het begin

Ik bid oprecht dat DE HEER je hart zal verzachten

Pas tot die tijd op voor valse profeten

Wrede wolven vermomd als schapen die er ongevaarlijk uitzien

Laat u niet misleiden voordat u dit voorbeeld volgt

Ik bedoel, kijk echt eens en herken ze aan hun fruit

Het goede nieuws is, terwijl ik dit schrijf

Ik besef dat alleen geloof gerechtigheid voortbrengt

Toch kan ik niet voorbijgaan aan hoe ik leef en me gedraag

Want geloof zonder werken zal alleen in het graf eindigen

Dit is de tijd die we hebben om ernaar te leven

De laatste die je wilt zijn, is een hypocriet
