Funeral - Denial of God

Mourners have gathered

For their last farewell

Amidst the grey stones

In the garden of the dead

The rain is falling still

The church bell tolls its knell

All cloaked in black with tears in eyes

The mourning ones have met

A man in black and violet

Latin scriptures, earth to earth

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust

And heavenly rebirth

Flowers grace the coffin black

Where the cold dead body lies

That slowly now is lowered

Into the cold earth

Funeral…

Now all is silent

And you are all alone

The rain is falling still

But no one mourns here anymore

A cross is placed above your head

The coffin is now your home

There is nothing left to do but

Pray that god will open his door

De rouwenden hebben zich verzameld

Voor hun laatste afscheid

Tussen de grijze stenen

In de tuin van de doden

De regen valt stil

De kerkklok luidt de klok

Allemaal in het zwart gehuld met tranen in de ogen

De rouwenden hebben elkaar ontmoet

Een man in zwart en violet

Latijnse geschriften, aarde tot aarde

Uit stof komt gij, tot stof zult gij wederkeren

En hemelse wedergeboorte

Bloemen sieren de kist zwart

Waar het koude lijk ligt

Dat wordt nu langzaam verlaagd

In de koude aarde

Begrafenis…

Nu is alles stil

En je bent helemaal alleen

De regen valt stil

Maar niemand rouwt hier meer

Er wordt een kruis boven je hoofd geplaatst

De kist is nu je thuis

Er zit niets anders op dan

Bid dat god zijn deur zal openen
