4-NICOLE'S DAY AT SCHOOL

Nicole tells her mother Susan about her successful presentation at school.

Her brother Ted overhears and interrupts the conversation.

Susan: How was your day at school today, Nicole?

Nicole: It was great, Mom.

I gave a presentation on Hillary Clinton in

government class.

Afterwards, my teacher paid me a compliment.

Susan: What did she say?

Nicole: She said my presentation was head and shoulders above the others.

Susan: Way to go!

Nicole: She also said I should go into politics, just like Hillary.

Ted: You’re so gung ho about school.

It drives me crazy.

Nicole: Ted, don’t butt in!

You’re just jealous.

Ted: Right.

You hit the nail on the head.

I’m green with envy.

Nicole: Would you just shut up?

You’re on thin ice with me right now.

Ted: Oh no!

Look at me.

I’m shaking in my shoes!

Nicole vertelt haar moeder Susan over haar succesvolle presentatie op school.

Haar broer Ted hoort en onderbreekt het gesprek.

Susan: Hoe was je dag op school vandaag, Nicole?

Nicole: Het was geweldig, mam.

Ik gaf een presentatie over Hillary Clinton in

klasse van de overheid.

Na afloop betaalde mijn leraar me een compliment.

Susan: Wat zei ze?

Nicole: Ze zei dat mijn presentatie met kop en schouders boven de anderen uitstak.

Susan: Goed zo!

Nicole: Ze zei ook dat ik de politiek in moest gaan, net als Hillary.

Ted: Je bent zo dol op school.

Ik word er gek van.

Nicole: Ted, bemoei je er niet mee!

Je bent gewoon jaloers.

Ted: Juist.

Je slaat de spijker op de kop.

Ik ben groen van jaloezie.

Nicole: Wil je gewoon je mond houden?

Je bevindt je nu op glad ijs met mij.

Ted: Oh nee!

Kijk me aan.

Ik sta te trillen in mijn schoenen!
