Mom down the hall, Bible pressed to her chest

She swore the Devil hides in everything, and her room was the only safe haven

Papa greep de tassen vast alsof ze weg zouden vliegen

En het landschap achter het glas was vloeibaar, we zaten erbij en lieten het weken

Ik voelde je adem onderweg

Ik zou je hand vasthouden als de lucht uit elkaar viel

En je zou mijn hand vasthouden als je me voelde wegglijden in het donker

Ik kan vanaf de grond niet zien of de lucht zal vallen

Ik kan vanuit de lucht niet zien of er daar beneden iemand is
