Another morning in tears

The piano hammers out

You catch yourself absconding with

All the worlds heavy truths

To flirt with the foolish optimism that

Is the start of winter

Drunken absurdities:

'it will be romantic

There is beauty in the cold!'

There is not

And it will try and kill us

That is a truth that all the trees know

We stray too far from the sun

The Earth strains at it’s tether

Weer een ochtend in tranen

De piano hamert eruit

Je betrapt jezelf op het onderduiken met

Alle zware waarheden van de wereld

Om te flirten met het dwaze optimisme dat

Is het begin van de winter?

Dronken absurditeiten:

'het wordt romantisch'

Er is schoonheid in de kou!'

Er is geen

En het zal proberen ons te vermoorden

Dat is een waarheid die alle bomen weten

We dwalen te ver van de zon af

De aarde spant aan zijn koord
