See the soil in our nails from the landscape

See the blood inside our bodies as the red tape

Holding us back under attack

While the others are forever contemplating

We’re all smothered by the weather while we’re waiting

Watching it all tumble and fall

We’re so determined not to drown

While the stern is going down

What’s the sense in having all of this potential

When we’re spending all our time on the essential

Giving away all that we make

And it’s nothing but a life of compromises

Good intentions interrupted by surprises

Pulling us down back to the ground

And while we’re reaching for the sky

We’re told it’s not so high

We’re far below it

Still we know we’ve always got to try

But when the leader doesn’t

Know which way to go

How can you follow him

Trust the process

And when the more we learn

The less we seem to know

How can you swallow it

Trust the process

When the day is done and everyone is sated

We’re too tired to be wired of creative

Wasting away day after day

And you know we don’t expect it to be perfect

At the minimum we thought it would be worth it

Glowing with pride owning the ride

And when we’re driving down a road

That’s really not a road

We’re going nowhere

Still it’s good to know we’re not alone

Hoe minder we lijken te weten

Hoe kun je het doorslikken?

Als de dag voorbij is en iedereen verzadigd is

We zijn te moe om creatief bezig te zijn

Dag na dag wegkwijnen

En je weet dat we niet verwachten dat het perfect is

We dachten ten minste dat het de moeite waard zou zijn

Gloeiend van trots die de rit bezit

En als we over een weg rijden

Dat is echt geen weg

We gaan nergens heen

Toch is het goed om te weten dat we niet alleen zijn

Maar als de leider dat niet doet?

Weet welke kant je op moet

Hoe kun je hem volgen

Vertrouw het proces

En wanneer hoe meer we leren

Hoe minder we lijken te weten

Hoe kun je het doorslikken?

Vertrouw het proces

Het heeft geen zin om je voor de waarheid te verbergen

Je staat op het dak

Alle sterren negeren

Het heeft geen zin om op de waarheid te wijzen

Je rijdt op een muilezel

In een wereld vol auto's

En als we over een weg rijden

Dat is echt geen weg

We gaan nergens heen

Toch is het goed om te weten dat we niet alleen zijn

Weet je niet dat je het proces moet vertrouwen?
