Shower in the dark day

Clean sparks driving down

Cool in the waterway

Where the baptized drown

Naked in the cold sun

Breathing life like fire

Thought I was the only one

But that was just a lie

Cause I heard it in the wind

And I saw it in the sky

And I thought it was the end

And I thought it was the 4th of July

Pale in the flare light

The scared light cracks & disappears

And leads the scorched ones here

And everywhere no one cars

The fire is spreading

And no on wants to speak about it

Down in the hole

Jesus tries to crack a smile

Beneath another shovel load

Douchen op de donkere dag

Schone vonken rijden naar beneden

Koel in de waterweg

Waar de gedoopten verdrinken

Naakt in de koude zon

Leven ademen als vuur

Dacht dat ik de enige was

Maar dat was gewoon een leugen

Want ik hoorde het in de wind

En ik zag het in de lucht

En ik dacht dat het het einde was

En ik dacht dat het 4 juli was

Bleek in het licht van de flare

Het bange licht barst en verdwijnt

En leidt de verschroeide degenen hier

En overal geen auto's

Het vuur breidt zich uit

En niemand wil erover praten

Beneden in het gat

Jezus probeert te glimlachen

Onder een andere shovellading
