On the floor with her mom

Puttin' her shoes on

Getting ready for another day

She says, «Mom, is it true?

Does God really have a big, big house

Does it really have a lot of rooms?»

And she says

«I really, really want to go there.»

And I said, «Why don’t we just talk to him.»

And that’s what we did

I did my best to explain

How it is that we all go to be with God

How it was the Savior came

If it’s true what he said

God himself sang along with the beautiful song

Of rejoicing in heaven

She said, «Jesus please come and live in my heart

And someday, can I come live with you?»

We could never have imagined

She’d be going there so soon

So soon

God only knows

Everything that happened in that moment

What he whispered to her heart

God only knows

Just how thankful I will always be

That he gave her mom and me

Doet haar schoenen aan

Klaar voor een nieuwe dag

Ze zegt: 'Mam, is het waar?

Heeft God echt een groot, groot huis?

Heeft het echt veel kamers?»

En ze zegt

"Ik wil er echt heel graag heen."

En ik zei: "Waarom praten we niet gewoon met hem?"

En dat is wat we deden

Ik heb mijn best gedaan om het uit te leggen

Hoe komt het dat we allemaal bij God gaan zijn?

Hoe het was dat de Heiland kwam

Als het waar is wat hij zei?

God zong zelf mee met het prachtige lied

Van vreugde in de hemel

Ze zei: "Jezus, kom alsjeblieft en leef in mijn hart"

En kan ik op een dag bij je komen wonen?»

We hadden nooit kunnen bedenken

Ze zou er zo snel heen gaan

Alles wat er op dat moment gebeurde
