I don’t do well if I’m kept behind

This office desk inside

It makes me loose my mind

Which wanders endlessly

Where all the birds fly freely

With their silhouettes

In perfect symmetry

I got a pocketful of poetry

I’ve got a head full of songs

A heart with wings

You couldn’t tie me down to anything

And that’s enough for me

I draw doodles of eccentric faces

In the margin spaces

Of important papers

Then I hand them in

With a comedic grin

They ask if I need help

Oh, where do I begin'

I got a pocketful of poetry

People all good lovingly they tell me

Do as you should, all will be well, they say

Life is a test, please give the best answer

A or B or C, pick one instantly

What if there’s so much more to me'

I got a pocketful of poetry

Ik doe het niet goed als ik achter gehouden word

Dit bureau binnen

Ik word er gek van

Die eindeloos dwaalt

Waar alle vogels vrij rondvliegen

Met hun silhouetten

In perfecte symmetrie

Ik heb een zak vol poëzie

Ik heb een hoofd vol liedjes

Een hart met vleugels

Je kon me aan niets vastbinden

En dat is genoeg voor mij

Ik teken doodles van excentrieke gezichten

In de margeruimtes

Van belangrijke papieren

Dan lever ik ze in

Met een komische grijns

Ze vragen of ik hulp nodig heb

Oh, waar moet ik beginnen'

Ik heb een zak vol poëzie

Een hart met vleugels

Je kon me aan niets vastbinden

En dat is genoeg voor mij

Mensen allemaal goed, liefdevol vertellen ze me

Doe wat je moet doen, alles komt goed, zeggen ze

Het leven is een test, geef het beste antwoord

A of B of C, kies er meteen een

Wat als er zo veel meer voor me is'
