Lookin at himself but wishin he was someone else

because the posters on the wall that don’t look like him at all.

So he ties it up he tucks it in he pulls it back he gives a grin,

laughin at himself because he knows he aint loved at all.

He gets his courage from the can, it makes him feel like a man

because he’s lovin all the ladies but the ladies don’t love him at all.

When he’s not drunk he’s only stuck on himself,

and then he has the nerve to say he needs a descent girl.

Lookin at herself but wishing she was someone else

because the body of the doll that don’t look like hers at all.

So she drops it on she sucks it in she throws it up and gives a grin,

laughin at herself because she knows she aint that at all.

All caught up in the trends well the truth began to bend

and the next thing you know man there just aint no truth left at all.

Cause when the pretty girl walks, she walks so proud,

and when the pretty girl laughs, oh man, she laughs so loud.

And if it aint this then its that as a matter of fact.

She hasn’t had a day to relax,

since she’s lost her ability to think… clearly.

Well I’m an energetic, apathetic version of another person.

the posters on the wall that don’t look like him,

Kijk naar zichzelf, maar wou dat hij iemand anders was

vanwege de posters aan de muur die helemaal niet op hem lijken.

Dus hij knoopt het vast, hij stopt het in, hij trekt het terug, hij grijnst,

lacht om zichzelf omdat hij weet dat hij helemaal niet geliefd is.

Hij haalt zijn moed uit het blik, het geeft hem het gevoel een man te zijn

omdat hij van alle dames houdt, maar de dames houden helemaal niet van hem.

Als hij niet dronken is, zit hij alleen aan zichzelf vast,

en dan heeft hij het lef om te zeggen dat hij een afstammeling nodig heeft.

Kijkt naar zichzelf, maar wenste dat ze iemand anders was

omdat het lichaam van de pop helemaal niet op het hare lijkt.

Dus ze laat het erop vallen, ze zuigt het op, gooit het op en grijnst,

lacht om zichzelf omdat ze weet dat ze dat helemaal niet is.

Allemaal verstrikt in de trends en de waarheid begon te buigen

en voor je het weet man is er helemaal geen waarheid meer.

Want als het mooie meisje loopt, loopt ze zo trots,

en als het mooie meisje lacht, oh man, ze lacht zo hard.

En als het dit niet is, dan is het dat eigenlijk.

Ze heeft geen dag gehad om te ontspannen,

omdat ze haar vermogen om te denken is kwijtgeraakt... helder.

Nou, ik ben een energieke, apathische versie van een ander persoon.

Bekijk mijn buitenkant, er is hier niets.

Nou, ik ben een oppervlakkige, systematische verslaafde aan muziektelevisie.

Bekijk mijn buitenkant, er is niets in, hier komt er nog een,

net als de ander die naar zichzelf kijkt, maar wenste dat hij iemand anders was omdat

de posters aan de muur die niet op hem lijken,

bindt het vast en stopt het in en trekt het terug en grijnst.

Hij lacht om zichzelf omdat hij weet dat hij helemaal niet geliefd is.
