April, Pt. 1 - Deep Purple

April is a cruel time

Even though the sun may shine

And world looks in the shade as it slowly comes away

Still falls the April rain

And the valley’s filled with pain

And you can’t tell me quite why

As i look up to the grey sky

Where it should be blue

Grey sky where I should see you

Ask why, why it should be so

I’ll cry, say that I don’t know

Maybe once in a while I’ll forget and I’ll smile

But then the feeling comes again of an April without end

Of an April lonely as they come

In the dark of my mind I can see all too fine

But there is nothing to be done when I just can’t feel the sun

And the springtime’s the season of the night

April is een wrede tijd

Ook al schijnt de zon

En de wereld kijkt in de schaduw terwijl hij langzaam wegtrekt

Valt nog steeds de regen van april

En de vallei is gevuld met pijn

En je kunt me niet precies vertellen waarom

Terwijl ik omhoog kijk naar de grijze lucht

Waar het blauw zou moeten zijn

Vraag waarom, waarom het zo zou moeten zijn

Ik zal huilen, zeggen dat ik het niet weet

Misschien zal ik het af en toe vergeten en zal ik glimlachen

Maar dan komt het gevoel weer van een april zonder einde

Van een april eenzaam als ze komen

In het duister van mijn geest kan ik maar al te goed zien

Maar er is niets aan te doen als ik de zon niet kan voelen

En de lente is het seizoen van de nacht
