Oblio's Return (Narration) - The Band

The next morning Oblio noticed that the rock under which they had slept was in

the shape of a giant pointing hand and there was an enscryption on its side

which read destination point.

So they set off in the direction indicated by the

hand and before long they found themselves on a road which led them out of the

pointless forest and on and on through the pointed hills and valleys until

finally they paused and in the distance they could see the spires and the

steeples of the land of point.

Now when the townspeople heard that Oblio and

Arrow had returned they ran out to the edge of town to give them a heroes

welcome for you see not only were the people glad to see them, Oblio and Arrow

were the first to have ever been to the pointless forest

When word of Oblios return had reached the count he was so mad he ran to the

court yard and he grabbed Oblio and he said…

«What are you doing here?

You were banished to the pointless forest!»

And Oblio said «But we went to the pointless forest and not only that but its

not pointless at all.»

«What?!?»

there was a huge gasp from the crowd

«Nonsense!»

said the count.

«You're in trouble!»

And just then the king arrived and he said «Not so fast count.

What do you mean

'not pointless' Oblio?»

And Oblio said «Well, it’s just that we did go to the pointless forest and it’s

not pointless at all.

Infact the trees pointed…»

«Nooo!»

«…and the leaves on all the branches pointed…»

«Noooo!»

«…infact even the branches pointed and not only that but everyone we met in

the entire pointless forest had a point and it’s just that, well it’s just like

here and we figured since that everything has a point, then i must have one too.

Just then someone in the crowd yelled out «He's got a point there!»

…and at that point the bell sounded in the pointed steeple and all the points

on the tops of all the buildings in the whole land of point began to melt and

at that point the points on the tops of the heads of all the people in the

whole land of point began to melt.

All that is except for the counts,

his just sort of flapped over on its side and he split, presumably for the

pointless forest.

But before he did he reached over and he grabbed Oblio and he

pulled off his cap and ya know what?

There on the top of Oblios head was a

point

Well that’s about it.

Oblio went on to start up a punk band called We Dunno (You

mighta heard of them).

That’s the end of the story so thank you and good night

De volgende ochtend merkte Oblio op dat de rots waaronder ze hadden geslapen erin lag

de vorm van een gigantische wijzende hand en er was een versleuteling op zijn kant

die het bestemmingspunt lezen.

Dus vertrokken ze in de richting aangegeven door de

hand en al snel bevonden ze zich op een weg die hen uit de

zinloos bos en verder en verder door de spitse heuvels en valleien tot

eindelijk stopten ze en in de verte konden ze de torenspitsen en de

torens van het land van punt.

Toen de stedelingen hoorden dat Oblio en

Arrow was teruggekeerd, ze renden naar de rand van de stad om ze een held te geven

welkom want zie je, niet alleen waren de mensen blij om ze te zien, Oblio en Arrow

waren de eersten die ooit in het zinloze bos waren

Toen het bericht over de terugkeer van Oblios de telling had bereikt, was hij zo boos dat hij naar de...

binnenplaats en hij greep Oblio en hij zei...

"Wat doe jij hier?

Je bent verbannen naar het zinloze bos!»

En Oblio zei: "Maar we gingen naar het zinloze bos en niet alleen dat, maar het is"

helemaal niet zinloos.»

"Wat?!?"

er was een enorme zucht van de menigte

"Onzin!"

zei de graaf.

"Jij zit in de problemen!"

En juist op dat moment arriveerde de koning en hij zei: «Niet zo snel tellen.

Wat bedoelt u

'niet zinloos' Oblio?»

En Oblio zei: "Nou, het is gewoon dat we naar het zinloze bos zijn gegaan en het is

helemaal niet zinloos.

Sterker nog, de bomen wezen…»

«Nee!»

van de menigte

«...en de bladeren aan alle takken wezen...»

«Neeee!»

van de menigte

«... eigenlijk wezen zelfs de takken en niet alleen dat, maar iedereen die we ontmoetten in

het hele zinloze bos had een punt en het is gewoon dat, nou, het is net als

hier en we dachten dat alles een punt heeft, dan moet ik er ook een hebben.

Op dat moment riep iemand in de menigte "Hij heeft daar een punt!"

...en op dat moment klonk de bel in de spitse toren en alle punten

op de toppen van alle gebouwen in het hele land van punt begon te smelten en

op dat punt de punten op de toppen van de hoofden van alle mensen in de

het hele land van punt begon te smelten.

Dat is alles behalve de tellingen,

hij klapte gewoon op zijn kant en hij splitste, vermoedelijk voor de

zinloos bos.

Maar voordat hij dat deed, reikte hij en greep hij Oblio en hij...

trok zijn pet af en weet je wat?

Daar op de bovenkant van Oblios hoofd was een

punt

Nou, dat is het zo'n beetje.

Oblio begon een punkband genaamd We Dunno (You

misschien van gehoord).

Dat is het einde van het verhaal, dus bedankt en welterusten
