Rich - My Epic

There’s a country that no one’s found yet

Somehow I seem to know about it

There’s a melody that no one’s sung yet

It’s faint, but I can hear it echoing

I’ve never been alone

But I‘ve never felt at home

Isn’t it strange that everyone feels this?

Try and name it, try to forget

There is something more that I desire but I cannot become yet

Still I’m haunted, I feel the ache

There’s a thousand joys that show me home but never let me stay

I have sailed across the sea, I’ve seen the ocean floor

But I cannot become the tide and battle with the shore

I know there must be something more

I can feel the winds are rushing, I hear them in the trees

But I cannot race through the sky and wrestle with the leaves

But I hope (?) that this won’t always be…

Someday soon we shall put on the sun

Not the one we see, that’s just a sketch of what’s to come

Earth and sky are coming to their end

We will wear the glory they had always hinted at

I have sailed across the sea and seen the ocean floor

Er is een land dat nog niemand heeft gevonden

Op de een of andere manier lijk ik er iets van te weten

Er is een melodie die nog niemand heeft gezongen

Het is zwak, maar ik hoor het weergalmen

Ik ben nog nooit alleen geweest

Maar ik heb me nooit thuis gevoeld

Is het niet vreemd dat iedereen dit voelt?

Probeer het een naam, probeer het te vergeten

Er is nog iets dat ik wil, maar dat ik nog niet kan worden

Nog steeds word ik achtervolgd, ik voel de pijn

Er zijn duizenden geneugten die me thuis laten zien, maar me nooit laten blijven

Ik heb over de zee gevaren, ik heb de oceaanbodem gezien

Maar ik kan niet het tij worden en strijden met de kust

Ik weet dat er iets meer moet zijn

Ik voel de wind razen, ik hoor ze in de bomen

Maar ik kan niet door de lucht racen en worstelen met de bladeren

Maar ik hoop (?) dat dit niet altijd zo zal zijn...

Ooit zullen we de zon aandoen

Niet degene die we zien, dat is slechts een schets van wat komen gaat

Aarde en lucht komen tot hun einde

We zullen de glorie dragen waar ze altijd op hadden gezinspeeld

Ik heb over de zee gevaren en de oceaanbodem gezien

Maar ik kan niet het tij worden en strijden met de kust

Ik heb altijd geweten dat er meer is

Ik voel de wind razen, ik hoor ze in de bomen

Maar ik kan niet door de lucht racen en worstelen met de bladeren

Maar ik weet dat het niet altijd zo zal zijn!
