There’s a mural that everyone knows

Most noted for being so beautiful

A pretty girl: tears on cheek

She don’t talk but to everyone she speaks

But when I get there

The crowd blocks the artwork

I can’t seem to see it

No one else can too

Have you seen the painting?

There’s a painting that everyone claims to see

Says the sight is beauty and exists to be

It’s nothing else, it’s everything

And if this thing was a person it would surely sing

But when I push through

The painting is not there

The canvas is thin air

But they go on and stare

And there’s no one else there to block the view

Maar ze gaan door en staren
