One soul cries out from the deep solitude

Yet captures the sound of a mighty One voice for a whole multitude

One Word spoken from the silence

One Light Eternal from the darkness of dawn

Jesus our Word Incarnated

Jesus our Eternal Song

One notes speaks more than a symphony

One word speaks more than the prophets of old

So our speeches and sermons all lay silent

When just one word speaks the depths of all souls

Eén noot roept tot de levende God

Eén noot schreeuwt uit het diepst van één ziel

Maar vangt de ziel van de hele mensheid

Eén Heer, één noot, één ziel

Een stem roept vanuit de stiltes

Eén ziel schreeuwt het uit vanuit de diepe eenzaamheid

Maar vangt het geluid van een machtige stem voor een hele menigte

Eén woord gesproken vanuit de stilte

Een eeuwig licht uit de duisternis van de dageraad

Jezus, ons geïncarneerde Woord

Jezus ons eeuwige lied

Eén noot spreekt meer dan een symfonie

Eén woord spreekt meer dan de profeten van weleer

Dus onze toespraken en preken waren allemaal stil

Wanneer slechts één woord de diepten van alle zielen spreekt
