Watching the evening slide away

Darkness slips across its face

The distant lights all fade away

They slowly winking off and out

Pieces are coming apart

With a static hiss

Can’t see the stream through all of this

Can’t escape the slow-lo grind

Desperate slow decline

That takes its time

And slowly takes apart your mind

As the signal comes in

And the lights decay

Put the hollow screen up to my face

Shed my diamond skin

And let the outside in

Lights blurring down the tunnel

Bar-code the windshield

Dazzled strips floro-aftertaste

Ionocrome

I’m all alone and drenched in drone

A scratchy wind-up gramophone

It’s such a long way down

It’s such an awful long way home

As the signal comes in

And the lights go out

Put my face up to the screen

Shed my diamond skin

To let the light pour in

De aarde is zo ver naar beneden

De avond zien wegglijden

Duisternis glijdt over zijn gezicht

De verre lichten vervagen allemaal

Ze knipogen langzaam uit en uit

Stukken vallen uit elkaar

Met een statisch gesis

Ik kan de stream door dit alles niet zien

Kan niet ontsnappen aan de slow-lo grind

Wanhopige langzame achteruitgang

Dat heeft zijn tijd nodig

En langzaam je geest uit elkaar haalt

Als het signaal binnenkomt

En de lichten vergaan

Zet het holle scherm tegen mijn gezicht

Laat mijn diamanten huid vallen

En laat buiten binnen

Lichten vervagen door de tunnel

Ik ben helemaal alleen en doordrenkt met drone

Een krassende opwindbare grammofoon

Het is zo'n lange weg naar beneden

Het is zo'n verschrikkelijk lange weg naar huis

Als het signaal binnenkomt

En de lichten gaan uit

Leg mijn gezicht naar het scherm

Laat mijn diamanten huid vallen

Om het licht binnen te laten stromen
