I went down and bought some cigarettes

Out of a vending machine

Along with the cigarettes came a pack of matches

With an magazine

It said «Unfold», so I did as it told

And I read it with an open mind

I decided to send for the booklet they gave

What the heck, I was wasting my time

It said «Free information with no obligation»

So I bought a stamp and licked the seal

Then I mailed it and bought me a meal

Well, a couple days later, I got my mail

And I found that my booklet arrived

I was curious to see what it said to me

So I opened it and got a surprise

They had a bill inside with a four-letter word

I think the word said «Sale»

I got so mad 'cause I’d been had

Before I pay them, I’ll go to jail

Ik ging naar beneden en kocht wat sigaretten

Uit een automaat

Bij de sigaretten zat een pakje lucifers

Met een tijdschrift

Er stond «Ontvouwen», dus ik deed wat het zei

En ik lees het met een open geest

Ik besloot om het boekje op te sturen dat ze me gaven

Wat maakt het uit, ik verspilde mijn tijd

Dus ik kocht een postzegel en likte het zegel

Toen heb ik het gemaild en een maaltijd voor me gekocht

Nou, een paar dagen later kreeg ik mijn mail

Ik was benieuwd wat het tegen me zei

Er zat een rekening in met een woord van vier letters

Ik denk dat het woord 'Verkoop' zei

Ik werd zo boos omdat ik betrapt was

Voordat ik ze betaal, ga ik naar de gevangenis

Dat is valse reclame daar

Lijkt me gewoon niet zo eerlijk
