In different ways —

All the scattered things manifest themselves

As greater and greater intelligence

Removes the choices one by one.

Like a virus, reproducing in a human mind like a wasp in rotten fruit.

Images so horrid, they cannot override the process of creation.

This thing is real — it is real!

This thing made of thought is as real as you

or I!

The reverse side of a jigsaw puzzle, the film that runs backwards,

splitting the atom with a chisel;

these are all crude references to the things

I feel whilst I’m building the machine.

And I ask — what will be the sign of its completion?

Now I am the fool;

following myself down carefully mapped paths,

turning and turning, a martyr to trust and continuity.

It’s the same wish —

In the same mind —

For the same goal —

Op verschillende manieren -

Alle verstrooide dingen manifesteren zich

Als steeds grotere intelligentie

Verwijdert de keuzes één voor één.

Als een virus, zich voortplantend in een menselijke geest als een wesp in rot fruit.

Afbeeldingen zijn zo afschuwelijk dat ze het maakproces niet kunnen negeren.

Dit ding is echt - het is echt!

Dit ding gemaakt van gedachten is net zo echt als jij

of ik!

De achterkant van een puzzel, de film die achteruit loopt,

het atoom splitsen met een beitel;

dit zijn allemaal grove verwijzingen naar de dingen

Ik voel terwijl ik de machine bouw.

En ik vraag: wat zal het teken zijn van de voltooiing ervan?

Nu ben ik de dwaas;

mezelf volgen langs zorgvuldig uitgestippelde paden,

draaien en keren, een martelaar voor vertrouwen en continuïteit.

Het is dezelfde wens —

In dezelfde geest...
