one day in the evening

a moonlit tree came to me and said

don’t look at your shadow

the kind in the (???) blind

in the evening

when the day is done

they’re searching for some holes

so there might be something to fill

and come time

you will not rest your mind

you may find life unkind

oh, but you will fly

op een dag in de avond

een maanverlichte boom kwam naar me toe en zei:

kijk niet naar je schaduw

want er is iets mis

oh en je weet, weet, weet

en hij volgt je naar huis

en als je niet weet dat het leeft

het soort in de (???) blind

je kunt je gedachten laten rusten

je vindt ons het soort

s avonds

wanneer de dag voorbij is

ze zijn op zoek naar gaten

dus er is misschien iets om in te vullen

en kom tijd

je zult geen tijd, geen tijd, geen tijd vinden

als je een dubbeltje hebt

je zult je gedachten niet laten rusten

misschien vind je het leven onaardig

oh, maar je zal vliegen
