Love starts with a toothbrush a bic razor and a dixie cup

a little splash of aftershave before you leave for that first date

to the car parked by the curb gassed up for Gatlinburg

a little chapel and couple of rings

will get you two toothbrushes by the bathroom sink

it just needs a little time and room to grow

a corner lot on the edge of town

think its as good as the getting gets

then she wakes up feeling bad and you both wonder whats up with that

you scrub him down and then you dry him off

pick him up and put his little feet on the counter by the bathroom sink

een hoekperceel aan de rand van de stad

een onkruidverdelger en een houten schutting

denk dat het zo goed mogelijk is

dan wordt ze wakker met een slecht gevoel en jullie vragen je allebei af wat daarmee aan de hand is

Alles wat ook maar iets is, begint als een beetje nadenken

het heeft gewoon wat tijd nodig om te groeien

en het volgende dat je weet

op een avond rond 8 uur

je schrobt hem af en daarna droog je hem af

pak hem op en zet zijn voetjes op het aanrecht bij de wastafel in de badkamer

je pakt de kuif en een dixie-beker het raakt je allemaal als hij zich opent Liefde begint met een tandenborstel
