To me this is a life style and not some silly trend

And years from now when they’re all gone

I pray that we’re still friends

In the sand at Gilgo beach

In the year two thousand and sixteen

I’ll be 42 and so will you

In our chairs right by the sea

Faded tatoos on our legs and back

And our feet are buried in the sand

I just bought a microphone for my kid

'cause she’s tryin' out for a band

This times forever am i clear-stop-go!

Voor mij is dit een levensstijl en geen gekke trend

En over jaren als ze allemaal weg zijn

Ik bid dat we nog steeds vrienden zijn

In het zand bij het strand van Gilgo

In het jaar tweeduizend zestien

Ik word 42 en jij ook

In onze stoelen direct aan zee

Vervaagde tatoeages op onze benen en rug

En onze voeten zijn begraven in het zand

Ik heb net een microfoon voor mijn kind gekocht

omdat ze probeert voor een band
