I can hear you moving around downstairs.

Dragging your feet as you walk back and forth through the house.

Running your hand over the piano keys absentmindedly as you pass by.

I want to join you.

I sit up slowly in my bed.

It’s dark outside but there’s a light glowing in the yard & it’s coming in

through the windows.

I can hear the wind blowing the leaves around.

I hear your voice downstairs and I want to join you.

Turning away, I walk down the hallway to the stairs where I sit and wait.

The noises have all stopped and i see you standing by the window with your back

to me, the light from the yard wrapping around your hair.

I want to say something but i can’t speak.

The room starts to fade & there is only you in the light and nothing else.

Ik hoor je beneden lopen.

Slepen met je voeten terwijl je heen en weer door het huis loopt.

Verstrooid met je hand over de pianotoetsen gaan als je voorbij loopt.

Ik wil met je meedoen.

Ik ga langzaam rechtop zitten in mijn bed.

Het is donker buiten, maar er brandt licht in de tuin en het komt binnen

door de ramen.

Ik hoor de wind door de bladeren waaien.

Ik hoor je stem beneden en ik wil bij je zijn.

Ik draai me om en loop door de gang naar de trap waar ik zit te wachten.

De geluiden zijn allemaal gestopt en ik zie je met je rug bij het raam staan

voor mij, het licht van de tuin die zich om je haar wikkelt.

Ik wil iets zeggen, maar ik kan niet praten.

De kamer begint te vervagen en er is alleen jij in het licht en niets anders.
