Lucky is the man that walketh not

In the counsel of the wicked

Nor standeth in the criminal ways

Nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:

But his delight is in the law of the peace;

And on his law doth he meditate day and night

And he shall be like a tree planted

By the streams of water

That bringeth forth its fruit in its season

Whose leaf also doth not wither;

The wicked are not so

But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away

Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment

Nor villains in the congregation of the righteous

Therefore the wicked shall not stand in the judgment

Nor villains in the congregation of the psalms

For the peace knoweth

The way of the righteous;

But the short way of

The wicked shall perish

Gelukkig is de man die niet wandelt

In de raad van de goddelozen

Staat ook niet in de criminele wegen

Noch zit in de stoel van spotters:

Maar zijn vreugde is in de wet van de vrede;

En over zijn wet mediteert hij dag en nacht

En hij zal zijn als een geplante boom

Door de waterstromen

Dat brengt zijn vrucht voort op zijn tijd

Wiens blad ook niet verwelkt;

De goddelozen zijn niet zo

Maar zijn als het kaf dat de wind wegdrijft

Daarom zullen de goddelozen niet standhouden in het oordeel

Noch schurken in de gemeente van de rechtvaardigen

Daarom zullen de goddelozen niet standhouden in het oordeel

Noch schurken in de congregatie van de psalmen

Want de vrede weet

De weg van de rechtvaardigen;

Maar de korte weg van

De goddelozen zullen omkomen
