I sit alone in the golden daylight,

But all I see is a silver sky;

For in my fancy I sweep away light,

All through the day I dream about the night,

Down falls the sun, I run to meet you,

The evening mist melts away;

Down smiles the moon, And soon your lips recall

The kiss I dreamed of all through the day.

Ik zit alleen in het gouden daglicht,

Maar alles wat ik zie is een zilveren lucht;

Want in mijn fantasie veeg ik licht weg,

En bewaar mijn beeld van de lucht,

Precies zoals we het graag hebben, jij en ik.

De hele dag droom ik over de nacht,

Ik droom over de nacht, Hier bij jou.

De hele dag wens ik de tijd weg,

Tot het moment dat ik hier bij jou ben.

Down valt de zon, ik ren om je te ontmoeten,

De avondmist smelt weg;

Beneden lacht de maan, En al snel herinneren je lippen zich

De kus waar ik de hele dag van droomde.
