I went to see Rebeca

She’s busy dancing in the streets

She’s dreaming of a future

Se’s entering stages all around the world

I pass the railway station

A man collecting money for the poor

And suddenly the sky breaks up

I feel the warmth from the sun

It finds it’s way into my heart

Awakes the sleeping corners of my day

Wheels keep spinning

There’s always a new beginning

Round the corners we pass

Beyond the end of this day

In a pulsation within a snapshot we grasp

I crossed the square

The market place

With an apple in my hand

The booths are overflowing

With different fruits from all around the world

I watch the children rushing

They fill their gap with playful noise

A mirror of my own youth

So long agonstill seems like yesterday

And suddenly the sky breaks up

I feel the warmth from the sun

It finds it’s way into my heart

Ik ging naar Rebeca

Ze is druk aan het dansen op straat

Ze droomt van een toekomst

Se betreedt podia over de hele wereld

Ik passeer het treinstation

Ik laat mensen die bezig zijn op weg

Ik zag Orlando

Een man die geld inzamelt voor de armen

En plotseling breekt de lucht in

Ik voel de warmte van de zon

Het vindt zijn weg naar mijn hart

Maakt de slaaphoeken van mijn dag wakker

Wielen blijven draaien

Er is altijd een nieuw begin

Om de hoeken komen we voorbij

Na het einde van deze dag

In een pulsatie binnen een momentopname begrijpen we

Ik stak het plein over

De marktplaats

Met een appel in mijn hand

De hokjes zijn overvol

Met verschillende soorten fruit van over de hele wereld

Ik kijk hoe de kinderen zich haasten

Ze vullen hun gat met speels geluid

Een spiegel van mijn eigen jeugd

Zo lang geleden lijkt het nog gisteren
