There’s a little bird that somebody send down to the earth to live on the wind

Born on the wind and he sleeps on the wind this little bird that somebody send

He’s light and fragile and feathered sky blue

So thin and graceful the sun shines through

This little bird that lives on the wind this little bird that somebody send

He flys so high up in the sky out of reach of human eye

And the only time that he touches the ground is when that little bird

Is when that little bird is when that little bird dies

Er is een kleine vogel die iemand naar de aarde heeft gestuurd om van de wind te leven

Geboren op de wind en hij slaapt op de wind deze kleine vogel die iemand stuurt

Hij is licht en fragiel en gevederd hemelsblauw

Zo dun en gracieus dat de zon er doorheen schijnt

Dit vogeltje dat op de wind leeft, dit vogeltje dat iemand stuurt

Hij vliegt zo hoog in de lucht buiten het bereik van het menselijk oog

En de enige keer dat hij de grond raakt, is wanneer dat vogeltje

Is wanneer dat vogeltje is wanneer dat vogeltje sterft
