Summer’s over and the bells are ringin'

Down the halls the girls are singin'

Their science books to class

If they don’t learn how to dance

The nurse’s office is gettin' full

Enough to get sent home from school

De zomer is voorbij en de klokken luiden

In de gangen zingen de meisjes

Aan de jongens die komen brengen

Hun wetenschappelijke boeken voor de klas

Het is 2 uur en ze kunnen niet stil zitten

Hersenen zijn moe en ze hebben hun wil verloren

Om op te letten, dan krijgen ze het koud

Dat smeekt om de tijd om voorbij te gaan

want alle kinderen

Ik kan niet wachten om naar huis te gaan

En zet de radio aan

Het leeft op de 45

Zonder ergens anders heen te gaan

Zal ik het weten?

De kinderen worden gek

Voor de middelbare school rock

Moeder gek maken

Met de middelbare school rock

Naar de rock-'n-roll van de middelbare school

Er gaan briefjes door de kamer

Thuiskomst komt eraan

En de jongens gaan hun ondergang tegemoet

Als ze niet leren dansen

Het kantoor van de verpleegster raakt vol

Met alle jongens die denken dat ze cool zijn

Genoeg om van school naar huis te worden gestuurd

Ze laten dus niet veel aan het toeval over
