1. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!

ye soldiers of the cross;

Lift high His royal banner, it must not suffer loss:

From vict’ry unto vict’ry, His army shall He lead,

Till every foe is vanquished, and Christ is Lord indeed.

The trumpet call obey:

Forth to the mighty conflict, in this His glorious day;

Ye that are men now serve Him against unnumbered foes;

Let courage rise with danger, and strength to strength oppose.

Stand in His strength alone,

The arm of flesh will fail you, ye dare not trust your own;

Put on the gospel armor, and watching unto prayer,

Where calls the voice of duty, be never wanting there.

4. Stand up, stand up for Jesus!

the strife will not be long;

This day the noise of battle, the next the victor’s song;

To him that overcometh a crown of life shall be;

He with the King of glory shall reign eternally.

gij soldaten van het kruis;

Hef Zijn koninklijke banier hoog op, het mag geen verlies lijden:

Van overwinning tot overwinning, Zijn leger zal Hij leiden,

Tot elke vijand is overwonnen, en Christus inderdaad Heer is.

2. Sta op, kom op voor Jezus!

Het trompetgeschal gehoorzaamt:

Uit naar de machtige strijd, in deze Zijn glorieuze dag;

Gij mannen dient Hem nu tegen ontelbare vijanden;

Laat moed stijgen met gevaar, en kracht tegen kracht verzetten.

3. Sta op, kom op voor Jezus!

Sta alleen in Zijn kracht,

De arm van vlees zal u in de steek laten, u durft de uwe niet te vertrouwen;

Doe de evangeliewapenrusting aan en waak tot gebed,

Waar de stem van plicht roept, wees daar nooit te kort.

4. Sta op, sta op voor Jezus!

de strijd zal niet lang duren;

Deze dag het lawaai van de strijd, de volgende dag het lied van de overwinnaar;

Voor hem die overwint zal een kroon des levens zijn;

Hij zal met de Koning der heerlijkheid eeuwig regeren.
