It’s a lazy afternoon

All the beetle bugs are zooming

And the tulip treas are blooming

and there’s not another human in view

but us two

It’s a lazy afternoon

and the farmer does his reaping

in the meadow cows are creeping

and the speckled trout are leaping up street

as they do.

A fat pink cloud

hangs over the hill un folding like a rose

you can take my hand and sit real still

you can hear the grass as it grows.

Het is een luie middag

Alle keverbugs zoomen in

En de tulpenbomen bloeien

en er is geen ander mens in zicht

maar wij twee

Het is een luie middag

en de boer oogst

in de wei sluipen koeien

en de gespikkelde forel springt de straat op

zoals ze doen.

Een dikke roze wolk

hangt over de heuvel en ontvouwt zich als een roos

je kunt mijn hand pakken en heel stil zitten

je kunt het gras horen terwijl het groeit.
